Asbury Park Mardi Gras/Mardi Paws Parade

It’s time for Asbury Park Mardi Gras–and we’ve added a Mardi Paws pet parade!
Ready for the 5th annual Asbury Park Mardi Gras celebration.?. This year there are new activities: the King Cake Baby Hunt & the Mardi Paws Pet Parade. Plus favorites, the Mardi Gras Happy Hour & the Masquerade Ball!
12 pm-5 pm King Cake Baby Hunt: a Mardi Gras scavenger hunt for all ages, free to participate. Start at Backward Glances, inside the Shoppes at the Arcade, 658 Cookman Ave., & get the locations of all the king cake babies. Visit the shops & find each baby. Each one is holding a secret word. Write all the words on your entry blank, then return to the start & get a mini king cake as a reward (while supplies last). Submit your list–a random entry will be chosen to win great prizes!
2 pm Mardi Paws Pet Parade: Dress your pet & join the parade! All registration proceeds go to Wag On inn Rescue. ($5 in advance, $7 day of. Pets will line up at the Shoppes at the Arcade and then parade down Cookman Avenue, and return to be judged. Prizes will be awarded! Don’t have a pet? Come watch, and see all the creative costumes. It’s going to be a blast!
3 pm-7 pm Mardi Gras happy hour: at Taka, 660 Cookman Ave. Featuring Mardi Gras inspired cocktails and festive food with a Japanese flair, available at the bar. This is always a fun gathering before the Ball.
5:30-10 pm Masquerade Ball: at the Saint, 601 Main Street. Starring the VooDUDES with special guest The Outcrops. There will be a costume contest to crown King and Queen of the Ball, to win wonderful prizes from the merchants of Asbury Park, $15 advance/$20 day of show. Tickets on sale at Backward Glances (658 Cookman Avenue), the Saint, or on Ticketweb.
So start working on those costumes–it’s time to party!
