Musician On a Mission presents Open Mic Music & Food Drive:

Finally–after two years this show has been rescheduled! Backward Glances is partnering with Musicians on a Mission. We wanted to celebrate our new sponsorship by hosting an open mic music show. Were you here for the British Invasion themed show in 2019? It was so much fun, and we are excited to do another show.

Our special guest host will be Rock on Radio’s Danny Coleman.

MOAM members get 10% off all merchandise in the store (excluding sale items) so bring your membership card. This is also a food drive for all, so don’t forget to bring your non-perishable food donations!

MOAM OPEN MIC FORMAT – Each performer is allowed 3 songs or 12 minutes (whichever comes first). You may only sign up for ONE 12-minute time slot. Twelve minutes is the TOTAL time on and off stage. All times are APPROXIMATE.

This time, we’ve chosen CLOTHES TO YOU as our theme, which means you should do at least two songs that have to do with our theme, plus one more song (cover or original). Your chosen theme songs can be anything that have to do with fashion, clothing or shoes. Even uniforms and the people who wear those uniforms. You can do BELL BOTTOM BLUES or DEVIL WITH A BLUE DRESS or BOOTS OF SPANISH LEATHER. Maybe Elvis Costello’s THE ANGELS WANT TO WEAR MY RED SHOES. How about YELLOW POLKA DOT BIKINI or SHARP DRESSED MAN? You could try some oldies like BLUE VELVET or A WHITE SPORT COAT (AND A PINK CARNATION) or BALLAD OF THE GREEN BERETS. The possibilities are practically endless!

Support for other performers is a priority for MOAM, so please show up early and stay late. There will be a grand finale song (Blue Suede Shoes – Carl Perkins & Elvis Presley) for everyone to share at the end of the event. Plan to stay for the finale. Admission is $5 donation at the door or $3 with two non-perishable food donations. Proceeds to benefit FULFILL, formerly known as the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
