We’ve got the funky 70s glasses styles you need for your disco outfits!
Who’s wearing those 70s glasses? Is it Elton John wearing his glitter glasses? or Elvis with his trademark gold frames? Maybe it’s Peter Frampton wearing aviator glasses on the cover of “Super Rock”? It could be you if you shop at Backward Glances!
Did you know that Elton John did not need to wear glasses? He started wearing glasses to copy one of his idols, Buddy Holly! After awhile, his eyes adjusted to the lenses, and he’s worn glasses ever since. The crazy glasses became part of his stage persona. Elton was shy and was able to hide behind the flamboyant sunglasses on stage. Sir Elton has admitted to buying over 20,000 pairs of spectacles, including novelty glasses with windshield wipers and flashing lights. In 2009, Elton was named Britain’s “most iconic glasses wearer”, beating out John Lennon and Dame Edna.
